How to Start a Test?
Agree to the Test Condition
On the left hand side of the page, you can see your name, email and the information related to the assessment and on the right side of the page, there are the instructions related to the test and the condition. In order to proceed further, read all the instructions and condition carefully before you agree to the condition.
Start Test
After agreeing to the condition, you should see the page shown below. Here, you can see the details related to the sections in the test and after seeing the section details you’ll need to click on “Start Test”, to proceed with your assessment.
The “Important Note”
You will be warned once, that all of your activities during the test will be recorded. You will need to click on ‘Okay’, if you want to proceed with the test.
The Test Page Interface
Test Timer
You can see the remaining time for the test (If there is a time limit for the test), at the top left corner of the Test page, at all times during the assessment.
Read Instructions Again
If you want to read the Instructions for the test again, you can do so by clicking on the instructions button. After clicking on the ‘Instructions’ button, you should see a pop-up with all the Instructions.
Collapse Question Preview
If you need more area to type your answers, you can collapse the left hand side of the page (where the preview of the questions is visible) by clicking on the ‘Collapse’ button, just below the ‘Instructions’ button.
To see the preview of the questions on the left side of the screen again, you can click on the expand screen symbol.
View All Sections
If you want to see all the sections of the assessment you can click on the ‘All Sections’ button to see all the sections of the assessment.
You can answer the question of your choice by clicking on the ‘Answer’ button in front of the questions.
You can also click on any of the question number (on the left side of the screen) to directly answer the question.
View Number of Questions Answered
You can see the number of questions you have answered out of the total number of questions, at the top right corner of the screen, below the ‘End Test’ button.
Skip, Save and Next, Save and Back Buttons
If you want to skip the question, you can do so by clicking on the skip button below. When you want to go back to the previous question, use the ‘Back’ button. Once you are done with your answer or halfway done with your answer, use the ‘Save’ button to save your answer. If you want to save the answer and move to the next question, you can directly use the ‘Save And Next’ Button.
Advanced Editor
If you want to add a table or a picture or format your text, you can use the advanced editor to do the same.
Ranking Questions
In case of ranking questions, you will just have to hold the option from the 6 dots on the left or from anywhere on the option. Now, you will just have to drag the option and then place it, wherever you want to. Similarly, arrange the rest of the options in the correct order. Once, you are done with your answer, you will have to save your answer using the ‘Save’ Button below. You can also use the ‘Save and Next’ button to save the answer and move to the next question.
Open Ended Questions
In case of Open Ended questions, you will have to type out your answer in the text box provided below. Use the advanced editor, if you want to format your text or add a table or a picture. You can also see the number of words you have written, at the bottom right corner of the text box. Once you are satisfied with your answer, save your answer using the ‘Save’ Button or the ‘Save and Next’ button.
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
In case of MCQ type questions, you will just have to click anywhere on the right answer(s) to mark the correct answer(s). Once you are sure that your answer is correct, make sure to save your answer before moving to the next question.
Custom Task Questions
In case of Custom Task questions, you can write your text answer in the text box. And, you can upload up-to 3 files (maximum size of each file can only be 5 MB) by dragging the file to the box below the text box or click on the “Click here” link to upload the file. After your are done with your answer, do not forget to save it.
Passage Questions
In case of Passage type questions, you can see the passage on the left side and the questions related to it on the right side of the screen. You need to answer the question related to the passage, after reading the passage. After you have answered the 1st question you can move on to the next question by clicking on the ‘Save and Next’ button below or you can directly jump to another question from the question numbers mentioned on the very left side of the screen. Just make sure to save your answers before you move onto the next question or next sub-question.
Coding Questions
In case of coding questions, you can see the coding problem on the left side and at the right side of the screen there is a code editor with intelligence. The code editor is provided with a dropdown for selecting the programming language at the top right corner of the screen below the “End Test” button. You can also reset your code using the “Reset Code” option beside the dropdown to choose the programming language.
You can test your code on your own input cases using the “Run Code” button below. To check if the written code passes the pre-defined test cases, you have to use the “Run Test Cases” button, this will give the total number of test cases that have passed or failed. When you are sure that your code is correct, you can submit your code in order to save it.
Audio Only Questions
To record your audio, you will need to click on “Allow Mic” and then allow access to SkillCounty to record audio. After allowing the access you’ll have to click on the “Record” button, to record your audio. You can record audio of up to 1:30 minutes and after recording your audio you will have to click on the “Confirm and Upload” button to save your audio. You can also play the audio before you upload it and if you are unhappy with your recording you can use the “Restart Recording” button to re-record the audio.


Audio-Video Questions
In the case of Audio-Video Questions, you will need to click on “Allow Camera” and then allow access to SkillCounty to record your video. After allowing the access, you will need to click on the “Record” button to record your video and audio, before you start recording make sure you are in a well-lit area. You can record a video of up to 1:30 minutes and after recording the video make sure to use the “Confirm and Upload” to save your video. You can also play your video before you upload it and if you want to re-record the video after viewing it, you can use the “Restart Recording”, to do the same.


End Test
When you have answered all the questions and are satisfied with your answers, you can end the assessment by clicking on the ‘End Test’ button (at the top right corner of the screen). You can also use the ‘Save and End’ button at the end of the last question to end your test.
